JEE Main 2026 Final Revision | 7 Smart Tips to Maximise Your Score

Hello dear JEE mains aspirant, now that you know you are left with some 40-45 days prior to your JEE mains exam, it is highly imperative for you to use this time judiciously so as to maximise your performance. My name is Pankaj Mishra and I help students shine in academics. In this video, I will tell you about 7 such points that you should keep in mind.

Cover Entire Syllabus

First and foremost, you have to cover the entire syllabus. When you study, focus on the entire syllabus. In physics, chemistry, maths, all the chapters in the syllabus, their topics, their subtopics, you have to cover everything. You cannot afford to skip any topic or subtopic or even a chapter. You should not skip any unit. You should not do any work where you know that you are not studying co-ordinate geometry. Do not make any preconceived notion that this is a high-yielding topic, this is a low-yielding topic. You should not think like that. Every topic is equally important. You do not know how many questions will come from this or not. So you have to keep this in mind. Next, use smart revision tools.

Use Smart Revision Tools

What do I mean by smart revision tools? In the preparation that you have done in the last 2 years, you must have made your own short notes. I am talking about self-made short notes. I am not talking about the ones that are already available in print form. Self-made short notes or concise notes or flashcards or formula sheets, revise them multiple times. What will be the benefit of that? In the least time, you will be able to revise more. We do not have much time to study exhaustively. Apart from NCERT, you cannot see any other book. There is not much time to study exhaustively. So stick to your short notes.

strengthen your fundamentals

Next, strengthen your fundamentals. The third point is to keep your fundamentals strong. Even though we have 40-45 days left, we have less time, but still, you should pay attention to the core concept, the fundamentals, the basics. The more your basics are strong, the more confidently you will face the exam and your accuracy will also increase while solving questions. To strengthen your fundamentals, stick to NCERT. It will help you a lot in chemistry, particularly in organic and inorganic. The way we read newspaper articles line by line, the same way read NCERT line by line. And after reading, when you finish a chapter, then you recall the things. What was the concept there? What were the fundamentals? What were the formulas? What were the definitions? Write them on a blank sheet of paper.

Prioritise Mock tests & PYQ's

You do not have to write very beautiful writing. You can write rough too. By doing this, you are involving more of your sense organs. More and more sense organs are involved while learning, so this content will be retained for a long time. Next, prioritise mock tests and PYQs. When you are practising, make your PYQ a reference. You can solve the questions of the last 10 years. You do not have to go beyond that. Although it is good if you do it. There is an ample pool of 10 years. You will get a lot of variety in it. And what will be the benefit of solving it? Firstly, you will be able to learn time management. Within stipulated time, you will be able to solve the questions. You will get to know the pattern of the exam and how the questions are framed. You will get to know which weak areas are left. You will get to know that by solving PYQs. You can solve PYQs chapter wise too, if a chapter is over. And in 3-4 days, you can also solve a full syllabus paper.

Time Management Strategy

That is also recommended. Next, the fifth point is time management strategy. How are you managing your time in preparation and how are you managing your time in exam day? Both are equally important for your success. In my opinion, you should give 2.5 hours for Physics and Chemistry. And 3 hours for Mathematics. Because it requires a lot of practise.
So 3 hours are required. And keep 2-2.5 hours for mock tests and PYQs. 10-12 hours of study is a must. If you do less than this, it will be very difficult. As the time is less, we have to utilise as much time as possible. So 10-12 hours of study is a must.

Mental Well Being and Good Health

Next, and very important. Many times, people don't pay attention to this. That is, your mental well-being and good health.Maintain your good health and your mental well-being. You have to pay attention to your sleep cycle, your sleep schedule, your diet, and your mental well-being. If you are sleep-deprived or in a lot of stress, then this will significantly reduce your performance. So stay hydrated. Avoid junk food. Eat nutritious food. And if possible, do a brisk walk in the morning or evening. You can also go for a short or long walk. When you take a study break from your parents, talk to your parents and siblings.

Avoid over comparison & Anxiety

You can stretch your body during study breaks. This will work as a stress buster for you. And last, avoid over-comparison and anxiety. Don't daydream and don't compare your own preparation with others. Someone has gone so far. He has solved this book, he has done so many mock tests, he has covered so many chapters. Don't do that. Pay attention to your own performance. Pay attention to your revision plan or schedule. See how much you are able to follow it. And in your mock test or the PYQ you are solving, whether your performance is increasing or not. You have to keep a laser focus on that. Don't go for peer pressure and don't compare yourself with others. And I hope if you pay attention to these 7 points, and pay attention to your well-being, which I told you is the most important, then you will clear JEE mains with a very good rank. Wish you all the best.
Thank you so much.
